Pop-Punk artist TITUS takes us to his hometown New Jersey

Music has been TITUS’ outlet for vulnerability and self-discovery. The New Jersey native has drawn on influences such as Blink-182 and Lil Wayne to create his own take on pop-punk. TITUS has also built a following on SoundCloud: “TRYING TO MAKE IT TO HEAVEN BEFORE THEY CLOSE THE DOOR,” from his DAMNED IF I DO project, has over 100,000 plays on the platform. TITUS credits SoundCloud with helping him grow his audience quickly and easily.

TITUS is taking his relationship with the platform to another level by taking us through his hometown in his First on Soundcloud Docuseries. He’s from Westwood, New Jersey, where he’s seen playing chess against himself while explaining that he lives inside of his head.

“I’ve always kind of felt like I’m battling myself..It’s kind of like being in a never-ending argument.”

He talks about experiencing anxiety that disappears just before he performs and says, “Sometimes I get really nervous…those nerves and that feeling kind of last right up until the point where I touch the mic.”

Recalling the many times he’s felt alone, TITUS says he wants to be a voice supporting people struggling with those same feelings.

“There are a lot of people out there who maybe need to hear someone else going through what they’re going through to feel like they’re not alone...I needed to hear that so many times. You’re not the only one. Everybody else is going through something.”

He adds that coming to this realization has taught him something valuable about music. “That’s kind of what being an artist is like…You gotta just look up.”
