Los Angeles singer Rosemarie chose music as her creative outlet

ROSEMARIE is proving that she’s more than the sum of her influences. The Los Angeles singer draws inspiration from Rihanna, SZA, and Drake, but she’s carving out her own space in R&B—a genre that always benefits from new energy. ROSEMARIE's career began when she started uploading music to SoundCloud, eventually releasing her debut EP, Sinnergy, in 2021.

The project has over 500,000 plays on SoundCloud on the strength of songs like “Henny Talk,” “Vision,” and “03 Love,” which features Juvenile. Now, she’s looking to make the next leap in her career by participating in First on SoundCloud

ROSEMARIE is taking her relationship with the platform to another level by taking us through her hometown in her First on Soundcloud Docuseries.

She talks about always knowing she’d be involved in something creative. She gravitated towards music because she’s part of a musically-inclined family: her father was a DJ and her mother sang. She’s always trying to put listeners in the moment with her through her songwriting and strives to make her lyrics as relatable as possible while remaining true to herself. ROSEMARIE has a very intimate relationship with her creativity, but she’s always willing to take a chance on something.

“I’m very experimental with my creative process as of right now…I’m trying out different things to see what can take me to another space.”

What’s more, ROSEMARIE understands the psychological wear and tear of choosing to pursue a creative discipline at the highest level. She wants to show fellow artists what can happen if they simply stick with it.

“I think it’s easy for creative people and people who are in these fields to get discouraged.”

“I think a lot of us who are artists, or creatives in general, might have a certain idea going into something. And we tend to compare ourselves. They say comparison is the thief of joy, so stay in your lane and ride it.”
