under the algae | marsh serenade by sharonrstewart published on 2016-07-12T15:01:09Z when? recorded around 3pm 7 july 2016 where? Kings Marshes, Orford Ness National Nature Reserve how? two Jez Riley French hydrophones, placed a bit more than a meter apart, a few centimetres under the surface algae, as shown in the thumbnail image. left and right channels show clear difference in insect/animal sonic activity. i have panned them hard to left and right, but not completely, so there is a bit of overlap. further, i left the recordings in their original state, with no EQ adjustments whatsoever. you can hear water beetles, water boatmen and the sound of aquatic plants as they take energy from the light. (thank you JrF!) any further help with insect/animal identification would be greatly appreciated!
