PROVINCIAL PARCS Rob Nicholls Toronto Provincial Parcs is the music project of multi-disciplined artist, Rob Nicholls. Working alone from his studio in downtown Toronto, Provincial Parcs merges his passion for painting, music and video art. The project was formed in the corner of his studio, using a treasure trove of analogue audio and video technology amassed over the last decade. Nicholls' work meditates on a psychedelic botanical landscape, which he captures through the lens of a bygone-era. The combination of dizzying and soothing imagery with repetitious grooves and orchestral passages delivers an affecting experience for the listener/viewer. Scenic Equilibrium is the debut album from Provincial Parcs; a four part electronic jazz album, influenced by the likes of Herbie Hancock, Alice Coltrane and Tangerine Dream, that will be released via Safe Sounds on 7th Nov 2021.
