We moved around
and dug through the files.
We knew how the use of reason
could take unexpected forms.
We lived in the library
but not much of it was useful.
We played a lot.
We could readily see how
through the universal use of reason
we would eventually manage
to put all the pieces together.
We loved each other
through the absence
and eventually came to the light
in the right order
in scarcely veiled terms.
We dreamt about
the subject as an individual
but in a purely negative manner
an emptiness
that might help us
find the hidden animal,
a general process
affecting all humanity.

This golden process
could spawn only on
a day of sudden change.
We finally decided
that we wanted to do it.
We knew it would be hard.
This led us to a final question.
We could readily see the freedom
and the path.
We bought a camper van and traveled
free with no plan,
nowhere to be,
nowhere to go.

We would finally discover
the golden process
following our intuition
and desire.
Our audacity to know
would be exercised in broad daylight
and our mission would be
complete.
