never look back by Soru

It took me awhile to come up with this poem, as I usually just write along with the song. But this one was different as I had to be strong when making it and even stronger uploading it. Without further ado, the last poem chronologically in the story of Sunpé:

"I wake up from the dreams,
the past memories,
and look forward to the future,
for it holds hope and promise.
I take a moment to admire the phone next to me,
sitting on that old night-side table,
screen down with the back light on,
illuminating the corner of the room,
the light dissipating out as it tries to reach the other side of where I sleep.
I pick up my phone,
clicking the home button to be able to turn off the light,
and notice a couple texts from you.
I turn off the light,
as well as the phone,
for I will not be tempted by you again.
Your snake-like tongue won't hurt me anymore.
For I stopped looking back at my past.
Now I live for tomorrow,
and the memories that will come."
