Gordon Benny Gordon Benny Royal Oak Gordon Benny has played in several blues bands and recorded original music (his own, as well as his band mate's) at Sweetwater Studios in Fort Wayne, IN and Roseleaf Recording in Portland, OR. Today, he records / writes / produces from his home studio in Metro Detroit. In his upcoming release - going live on October 31st, 2025, Gordon Benny revisits his rock roots through searing guitar tones and lyrical expression. His most recent single, The Old Me, pays tribute to his roots and time spent at the muddy Mississippi river in Illinois. Through his debut album, On Trial for Killing Time (OTFKT), Gordon Benny illustrates his versatility as a songwriter, guitarist, bassist, and music producer. OTFKT explores love, loss, joy through the perspective of the blues. What sets Gordon Benny apart is his unique expression of feelings through the lens of his guitar tone. The title track on OTFKT articulates an intimate battle with procrastination as Gordon Benny wrestles with his own experience putting things off, thinking it will be easier to create... tomorrow (or next year...). The opening track, Time Will Tell, is a heartfelt homage to Gordon Benny's late father and the time they spent leading up to their final goodbye. I Am Yours was written for Gordon Benny's wedding, originally played as a backing track that Gordon Benny performed live for his wife and family, all of them hearing it for the first time. The song, Wake Me Up is for anyone who's ever experienced loss.
