Three Portraits For Two Bass Clarinets by Gord Sellar published on 2013-07-18T10:00:54Z This piece, commissioned by my classmate Lana Fribance for, I think it was, her 3rd year recital. I composed it during the summer prior to my own 3rd year of music studies, if I remember correctly, and Susan Clarke, along with performing the second bass clarinet part, copied the score beautifully. The work is in three movements, each characterizing one of the more well-known students in our department. They’re short so it’s all included in a single MP3 file. These three portraits were of music students in the department during my first year, and are titled as follows: Mvt. 1: Grace (for Grace Yip) Mvt. 2: Jamie (for Jamie Shupena) Mvt. 3: Mo (for Mo Lineman) Genre Avantgarde Comment by martinmontenegrosax Nice counterpoint 2013-08-14T02:36:39Z Comment by Gord Sellar Movement 3: Mo 2013-07-18T10:02:29Z Comment by Gord Sellar Movement 2: Jamie 2013-07-18T10:01:47Z Comment by Gord Sellar Movement 1: Grace 2013-07-18T10:01:16Z
