Gorazd Bomesthar (born November 9, 1980 in Postojna, Slovenia) is a Slovenian electronic musician and DJ from Dane, a small village near Sežana. Growing up constantly surrounded by music (and loving every minute of it) made him want to become more engaged in performing and creating music himself. His first experience as a musician came as an amateur drummer, as it was his childhood goal to one day manage and play in his own band. In 1997, Gorazd, a 16 year-old teenager, decided to get his first little taste of the nightlife at the (back then famous, well-renowned and fully operational) Titanic discothèque in Sežana. He was immediately overwhelmed by the electronic sounds he heard and from that point on, decided to closely follow other techno artists of his generation, pioneers such as: Umek, Jeff Mills, Christian Varela, Ben Sims etc. In 1999, Bomeshtar finally decided it was time to pursue his own career as an electronic musician. With about a year experience behind him, Bomesthar was invited to join a music organization made by Domen Petaros (DJ Gumja of Techstrubation Records) called S.O.N.M (Sounds of New Millenium.Much like Coastal Underground, their aim was to raise the popularity and activity of techno in their home community. Since then, Bomesthar was actively participating in various events in Europe (Slovenia, Italy, Croatia…) until he decided to take a break from music in 2007. After a five-year hiatus, Bomesthar is back in business as a member of Coastal Underground and aims to once again help revive the techno scene in his home town with his lasting experience and impressive résumé. Always looking to build on the former, he loves new challenges and will be therefore eagerly experimenting with new genres and sounds alongside his already well-established, distinctive style. He says that his passion and drive for creating music comes from all the people who enjoy listening and partying to his music, his lovely fans.
