"Leave No Trace"... a mantra borrowed from the more purist and hardcore camping ethicists. The general idea behind it being that you must minimize all environmental impact whenever you engage with the natural world as a means of responsibility.
Around the time of this mix I was fascinated by Lee Lozano’s Dropout Piece and Seth Price’s How To Disappear In America — wondering what would it feel like to voluntarily drop out completely, to really leave no trace? Especially, what would our beloved planet look like?
Musically, what I wanted to illustrate with this mix were two sides of an untouched and unpopulated planet. The eternal, chaotic hum of the natural world, the glow of an empty city left on overnight....Honk if you don't exist."
