goNorth2011 Jamie Macdonald Inverness goNorth is a platform for new and emerging acts from Scotland and beyond to showcase for music industry and media representatives. goNorth 2011 was the the 11th year of the event. This year goNorth in association with Netsounds Unsigned brought the Rockhopper mobile recording stdio to the event to capture live sessions from the acts performing at goNorth 2011. Housed in a vintage 1963 Airstream Overlander, The Rockhopper mobile recording studio was based in the heart of Inverness at Falcon Square on the 9th and 10th of June and broadcast a series of exclusive live sessions from a selection of acts performing at this year’s event. The results of these sessions are available to stream on this page. After five successful years programming new music at RockNess, we are taking goNORTH back to its roots in 2011 and supporting emerging talent at five of the finest independent festivals in the country, Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival, The Wickerman Festival, Loopallu, Summer In The City 2011 and Wizard Festival. This development means that all acts selected to showcase at goNORTH 2011 will also get the opportunity to showcase at one or more of the independent festivals featured on the goNORTH Festival tour.
