Gone North | GN005 - M50 (Echospace, Mathematics, Wave Music) by Gone North

For mix number 5 we are delighted to give you a killer 76 minutes of low-swung, dub-infused house to get well and truly lost in. Those 76 minutes come from one of the shining lights in the Chicago scene today; M50, aka Area.

Chicago is revered for throwing us an endless stream of incredible underground talent over the years, and M50 is no exception. One who persistantly pushes the boundaries both as selector as M50, and as a producer under his Area alias having released on the world’s most respected underground labels, including Echospace, Steadfast, Mathematics and Matrix, not to mention his sensational debut album on Francois Kevorkian’s Wave Music.

He also runs Kimochi Sound a label which plays home to the likes of Anton Zap, Brendan Moeller and Benjamin Brunn, whose limited, screenprinted 12"s have received critical acclaim for their forward thinking take on techno and continues to receive consistent support from the likes of Kyle Hall, Roman Flugel and Mr Moeller himself.

A true journey.

Forwards.
