// goldmannmusik Philipp Goldmann Leipzig Philipp Goldmann is a German baritone and choir conductor from Leipzig. He was a member of the St. Thomas Boys’ Choir Leipzig from 1997 to 2006. As choir senior prefect, he gained valuable experience as choir singer, soloist and choir conductor. Philipp Goldman was a voice student of Prof. Roland Schubert at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater „Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy Leipzig from 2007 to 2012. Since 2014, he has been taking further voice lessons under Prof. Berthod Schmid. Furthermore, he studied choral conducting under Prof. Roland Börger in Leipzig and Prof. Vivianne Sydnes at Norges Musikkhøgskolen in Oslo from 2009 to 2014. In 2011 he was awarded the Deutschlandstipendium of HMT Leipzig and the Stipendium of the Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now, Leipzig, e.V. He is a current scholar of the Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes, a distinction awarded to him in 2013. In addition to his studies, Philipp Goldmann is regularly invited to sing baritone solo parts in oratorios performed by renowned national and international ensembles such as the Amsterdam Baroque Choir, the MDR-Rundfunkchor and the Vokalakademie Berlin. He gained useful experiences in master classes with KS Prof. Peter Schreier (Kunstlied of Mendelssohn and Schumann) and Prof. Gerd Türk (arias und recitatives of Bach). Since 2015 Goldmann has been musical director of the Denkmalchor Leipzig. He has conducted several choirs, upon request, and has initiated and organised several choir and ensemble projects. As assistant conductor of Ludwig Böhme, musical director of Kammerchor Josquin des Prez, he conducted the choir’s various rehearsals and concerts during the Bachfest Leipzig, at Stunde der Kirchenmusik in Stuttgart and during the Festival Musica Sacra en San Juan in Argentina. He is the musical director and bass of Ensemble Thios Omilos, a men's vocal quintet that he founded in 2002. It has a broad repertoire particularly in sacred music. The group has given concerts in Germany, China, Taiwan, Austria, Italy and France. It has recorded two CDs and has won first and second places in renowned international competitions.
