Houston Residents Find Hope in the Aftermath of Hurricane Harvey by GOGO Charters Podcast published on 2017-11-17T17:07:16Z On this episode, we’ll be talking with residents of Houston, Texas. Two months ago, Hurricane Harvey flooded the city with over two feet of water in just 24 hours - causing 14 fatalities, destroying 800 homes, 300,000 automobiles, and damaging 119,000 homes. In terms of financial damage, this disaster was second only to Hurricane Katrina. Before the storm, our company provided transportation to get people out of the area. But after the storm, life went on for those of us who don’t live in Houston. Experts told us FEMA were handling this better than they handled Katrina. So, things must be ok. So, we thought we’d test that assumption and talk to real Houstonians who were there when it happened, who are still dealing with the aftermath, and who can teach the rest of us why you don’t mess with Texas, even if you are a category 4 hurricane.
