Juli Lee - Overrated LP // Snippet Previews MYR19 // Out: 05.06.20 // Juli Lee - Overrated - LP - MYR During such difficult times as a pandemic outbreak there is so much negativity as we are all confined to much smaller spaces and unable to interact and share beautiful moments together as a creative society. Even though we cannot move as freely as we would like we all have the opportunity to revisit our creative skills and use the time at home to work on the things we all love most and here at MYR that is music. A massive release for our 2020 schedule welcomes MYR`s first album from Swiss artist Juli Lee titled “Overrated”. The album is a 6-track masterpiece of delectable, energized deep house with some of Juli`s most creative material to date. As a highly versatile producer, her ability to craft a memorable journey through her selection of grooves is complimented immensely by her sound shaping skills and approach to how she builds out every track she makes. The title track “Overrated” is an analogue dream drenched in jazzy notes and bright, colourful stabs giving the track a seriously authentic feel while maintaining the dance floor dominance Juli has become so well known for. A true mark of her sound, she never veers too far from her energetic soul when exploring brand-new sounds and avenues in her musical journey. The tracks “Polisix” and “Flibbertigibbet” take the album a step deeper exploring a warmer side of Juli`s style bringing a strong melodic tone to the forefront of her album. Two personal favourites “Deepest Fear” and “Day Break” lift the vibe nicely as the two tracks bring a dark, groovy feel to the dance floor for the after hour DJ sets in the early morning with rolling basslines and peak time breaks that really turn up the heat when it`s needed most. Bring the album full circle the track “As If” is a punchy party starter that completed the album with it`s dark yet lighter side of the fun, playful energy Juli shows throughout the album. The intricate sounds and dynamic approach to her productions shows her maturity as a seasoned producer and DJ knowing exactly what the dance floor needs and her skills of knowing 100 different, creative ways to get there.
