Bad News Cadillac by Godvliet Records published on 2026-09-27T14:07:50Z A jukebox dare, a greasy thumbprint, a ring on a shoestring and two cups of coffee. Bad News Cadillac plays like one long courtship, told in six short songs. It starts with a last nickel dropped in a jukebox at closing time. Then comes a grease stain under a hair ribbon, a class ring that won't fit and a Sunday dinner where her father counts his pay. A letter gets rained on. By the last song they're married, living above a bakery and saving for a shop. The Lucky Extras play it as snarling 1950s rockabilly. The vocal hiccups and yelps over slapback echo while a trebly guitar stings, the upright bass slaps and the snare moves from brushes to hard cracks. It all struts and snarls. Underneath it, somebody keeps choosing to stay. Written and composed by Judi Godvliet. Godvliet Records.
