Your House Our Rules by Godvliet Records published on 2026-09-27T21:50:24Z A swallowed quarter, a heart drawn in roof tar, a letter from an art school and two keys on one nail. Your House Our Rules follows one couple through six songs, from a first phone call to a shared front door. It starts in a laundromat arcade on a rainy Saturday, with seven numbers written on a matchbook. Then comes a cassette with room for one more song, a rooftop party in June and a letter from an art school two towns over. She takes the room. He has to learn to be glad about it. By the last song they're wedging her sofa through the door and hanging two keys on one nail. Sunday Hotline play it as bratty mid-80s rap rock. Three nasal voices trade lines and shout the hooks together over drum-machine breaks, chopped funk-rock guitar, distorted bass and turntable scratches. It sounds like a party in somebody else's basement. Written and composed by Judi Godvliet. Godvliet Records.
