Aaron Childs - Easy [GODMODE] "easy" the return of aaron childs out 12 oct 2018 on GODMODE gm140 all inquiries: god at godmodemusic dot com more info: Introducing Aaron Childs Pop music has been addicted to its own glum, narcotic haze for a few years now – which makes Aaron Childs’ music feel like an antidote. The LA native makes unapologetically joyful rhythm and soul in the tradition of Al Green, Earth Wind and Fire, and Bruno Mars. Gifted with both disarming falsetto and commanding shout-sing, he’s not afraid to make you happy, not afraid to let you know he’s working hard for you. This is celebration music – stuff to jailbreak us out of our own skulls. “Easy” is the first offering of Aaron Childs’ forthcoming EP, out January 2019 on Godmode (Yaeji, Shamir, Channel Tres). A timeless soul arrangement retrofitted with a fat modern low-end, the song is an ode to the California coast, where Aaron has gone over the years to collect himself whenever the grind gets the better of him. The song’s knotty bass line, reminiscent of old West Coast rap, was performed by Brian Robert Jones (Vampire Weekend), while Aaron’s father, the Grammy-winning Billy, fills out the track with deep chords and nasty leads on electric piano. release info: artist: Aaron Childs title: Easy label: Godmode cat no: GM140 out: 12 October 2018 song credits: song by Aaron Childs, Nick Sylvester, Matthew Sainvil, Zalma Bour arrangement by Nick Sylvester production credits: performances by Aaron Childs - lead vocals, guitar Billy Childs - electric piano Nick Sylvester - electric piano, drums, drum machines, Intellijel synthesizers, tambourine Matthew Sainvil - background vocals Brian Robert Jones - bass Jon Natchez - saxophones Kelly Pratt - trumpet, trombone, flugelhorn executive produced by Talya Elitzer produced by Nick Sylvester mixed by Nick Sylvester at Godmode Studios, Los Angeles recorded by Nick Sylvester and Robert Szmurlo at Godmode Studios, Los Angeles mastered by Sarah Register at SRM, Brooklyn cover photo by Nicol Biesek cover art by Jared Liner and Jim Farsetta
