She endeavors to explore controversial subject matter through an authentic and compassionate lens. There are no villains in her plays. Much of her writing is subtly influenced by her upbringing in rural Oklahoma. Her plays Ripe and Unfit have received readings and developmental workshops at DePaul University. In May, her play Mrs. Phu’s Cleansing Juices (and also salads), will be receiving an extended development process, as part of the New Playwrights Series, also at DePaul. Recently, her short play Silhouettes was part of College Night at Victory Gardens Theatre. She is presently pursuing her BFA in playwriting from The Theatre School at DePaul University, and will graduate this June. Currently, she is working on Carbonation, a dark comedy set in the 1960’s that explores the lives of sexually-stilted workers at the Dr. Pepper factory in Waco, TX. Genre Storytelling
