Shodekeh Talifero Gives a Master Class on Breath Art by WORT 89.9FM Madison published on 2020-08-21T00:24:18Z Tuesday 8 O'Clock Buzz host Damita Brown speaks with Dominic “Shodekeh” Talifero, a groundbreaking beatboxer, vocal percussionist and breath artist who pushes the boundaries of the human voice within and outside the context of hip hop music and culture. Shodekeh performs with the globally renowned Alash, one of the world’s leading Tuvan Throat Singing ensembles, and features on their recent Smithsonian Folkways album release. He currently serves as an accompanist and composer in residence for Towson University’s Department of Dance and is the founding director of Embody, A Festival Series of the Vocal Arts. On Saturday, August 22, Shodekeh will give a virtual master class on breath art and breath music, via the Dodgeville-based cultural arts center Folklore Village.
