Once upon a time - in 2014 - a fake Facebook event page was made for a celebration of the 2001 animated film Shrek to be held in Madison. One artist and his friends determined to make it a reality.

The 8th Anniversary of one of Shrekfest, now one of Madison's most bizarre traditions , will take place soon on Saturday, September 11. This week on New Domains, I speak with its creator Grant Duffrin to delve into its history. I also speak with Marcie LaCerte, an animator and motion designer who has reported on the Shrek fandom.
