Drim - Three Incantations (WHITEOWL005) by White Owl Records

Drim’s three tracks are rich with gritty texture and energetic drums. The first track, Nectar, starts from a sprint. A bouncing groove writhes as it grows, surrounded by glittering percussion. The following track, Circadia, follows a raw synth lead from its fiery birth to its wearied death. The closing track, Smelt, is a cinematic thumper. Strong low-end percussion holds steady as undulating pads, excited snares, and rippling hi-hats chug forward

Drim’s work draws inspiration from the rich history of raw, live techno, while propelling it beyond the present. This EP is born from their collaborative live practice, which results in a sound that careens left and right all while barreling forward. The duo consider each track a spell to invoke a spiritual presence – an offering to the dancefloor to find the space between the beat.
