VocalEssence ReMix 2015 by VocalEssence published on 2015-12-02T22:42:41Z Supported by the Jerome Foundation, VocalEssence ReMix encourages break-out musical artists—whether you sing in a rock band or play classical music—to write for voice. In 2015, four talented, emerging composers/songwriters were selected to have a six-month one-on-one composer mentorship with one of our four composer mentors (Libby Larsen, Carol Barnett, J. David Moore or Timothy Takach) as they each wrote a choral work suitable for high school and college-level choirs. The professional VocalEssence Ensemble Singers premiered the works at the annual American Choral Directors Association of Minnesota State Conference on Friday, November 20, 2015. Through this program, VocalEssence ReMix encourages the creation of innovative works in a wide range of styles, while providing the artists with: *a mentorship with renowned composers Libby Larsen, Carol Barnett, J. David Moore or Timothy Takach *a performance by the professional chorus VocalEssence *access to an audience who may want to perform their music *possible publication through VocalEssence Music Press VocalEssence ReMix is a collaboration between VocalEssence, the American Composers Forum and the American Choral Directors Association of Minnesota.
