Veronika Villányi Veronika Villányi Veronika Villányi was born in Hungary. Her musical skills have been revealed very early: she began to be concerned with music at Kindergarden (recorder, ear training, piano), started playing the harp at the age of 10, learned to play the flute as a hobby and was singing in a women’s choir for several years. She completed her musical studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna with a Masterˋs degree. In 2002 she began to play in the orchestra, lately often at Tonkünstler Orchester, ORF Radio-Symphonieorchester Wien, Beethoven Philharmonie under conductors such as Christoph Campestrini, Andrès Oroczco-Estrada, Cornelius Meister, Alain Altinoglu, Yutaka Sado, Kristiina Poska, Susanna Mälkki, Jun Märkl, Gergely Madaras and so on. Veronika won auditions at the Wiener Jeunesse Orchestra, Orchestra of „Vereinigten Bühnen Wien“, Philharmonic Orchestra of Györ, Organisation Live Music Now and Max Steiner Orchestra Vienna. She collected competition prizes in Italy, Serbia and Hungary. Music already brought her across Europe, China, Japan and Indonesia. She attended numerous masterclasses by todayˋs most acknowledged harpists - for example Catherine Michel, Isabelle Perrin, Xavier de Maistre, Jana Bouskova and many more. In 2009, Veronika and Violoncellist Heidemarie Mravlag established the Duo HarpArt, and since then they perform throughout Austria. In 2011 she became a member of the „ensemble xx. jahrhundert“, which performs modern and contemporary music. Since 2010 Veronika gives private harp and music theory lessons and since 2015 she leads the harp class at the Music School of Korneuburg.
