Renovo2011 07 Nathan Airchime K5LLA 'K5 - M5' - Elliston by user323978314 published on 2016-06-10T14:55:25Z Here we are blowing "K5M5", which is a K5LLA specially tuned by Andy Elliston to sound like a deep-pitched M5, by flattening a K#2 bell by about 1/2-semitone and a straight #3 bell flattened between A and A#. The result is an M5!! The timbre is also very much like an M5 with the vibrant sounds of the off-tones. The only real difference I could hear was the directional catenoid bells...When the horn passes, it is not as loud as an M5 would be, since the sound is directed straight forward. But like a well-tuned M5, it has that slightly diminished sound on approach and that deep vibrant major 6th sound upon receding... This was recorded at Horn Blower's Ridge, outside Renovo, PA in 2011. Rig used was The Silverado Outlaw with dial-a-chime and select-a-chime features.
