Harassing a transgender child and his family on air by WEEI, Dennis and Callahan, sponsored by AT&T by Joe published on 2015-11-14T20:45:12Z In case you were wondering if discrimination and bigotry against transgender people still exists in Massachusetts... Here is a snippet of public shaming and bullying by the Dennis and Callahan show on WEEI, which is "...brought to you by AT&T, mobilizing your world..." Even though Dennis and Callahan have a track-record of insensitivity toward transgender people, or, as they have referred to in the past, "tranny's", AT&T remains a proud sponsor of their show and station. Just do some Googling and check out their Yelp reviews to see what people they have said in the past, since WEEI has taken down the audio of their previous discriminatory statements. In this segment of the Dennis and Callahan show Gary, Gerry and Kirk have a lot of fun at the expense of my family, because of how we have dealth with our son's condition (he is transgender). They have no problem jumping on the air to declare that we are "nutj-obs" and "child-abusers" who should have our child taken from us, even though they admit they haven't taken the time to learn anything on the issue or even read published information about our family's story on Boston.com: http://boston.com/life/moms/2015/02/26/letter-son-jacob-his-birthday/a2Jynr9Jhc3W8VQ9lVFx8N/story.html WEEI, Dennis and Callahan and their sponsors such as AT&T are entitled to their views. I am posting this to spread awareness that these prejudices and views are alive and well, , which is why many transgender people face bigotry and exclusion in public places and public airwaves, even in the progressive state of Massachusetts. That said, as a whole, our local community who know our son have been very supportive of us. Since transitioning to living as a boy, Jacob has been thriving and is doing awesome. Just as WEEI used audio of my family from CBS, I am posting this audio of their show, under my rights in Fair Use to provide this commentary of my own. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lenz_v._Universal_Music_Corp. Genre WEEI Comment by Joe Here's where the hosts admit they didn't even know there was an article in the Globe about us. Why Google and learn about us? No way, bigotry prefers in ignorance. 2015-11-17T15:59:21Z Comment by Joe Here's where a caller brings up our story on Boston.com, and they haven't read it. You'd think they could Google us and read the article before spending 10 minutes getting their listeners riled up, and demanding that our children be taken from us. 2015-11-16T02:47:35Z Comment by Joe Here's where they call on state authorities to have our child taken from us. They laugh, but this has happened to other families of transgender children. It's why we've been advised to maintain a 'safety folder' of letters from prominent community leaders, who acknowledge and voice for Jacob's condition, and can voice for us not being "nut-jobs", which we can present if or when authorities arrive to take our child from us. 2015-11-16T02:42:56Z Comment by Joe I've uploaded this portion of the Dennis and Callahan show, to provide commentary on this segment, wherein the hosts comment negatively on me, my wife, my family and my transgender son. In doing so, I am uploading and describing this portion of content under Fair Use. Sending me a takedown notice would be a bad-faith failure to consider Fair Use. In such an event I have the means to pursue legal recourse (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lenz_v._Universal_Music_Corp.) 2015-11-14T20:53:31Z
