The Day After: Worker Self-organization in Greece, Argentina & Spain One social response to major economic collapse has been the ‘recovery’ or occupation of factories that have closed due to bankruptcy and capital flight by their former workforce. These projects have worked not only to help redundant workers and their families survive, but to help individuals cope with the hidden psychological and social costs of being made suddenly redundant, as well as to insist on the centrality of labour for the recovery of the community, city, regional or national economy more generally. This panel brings together academics and activists who have accompanied such projects following economic crisis in Argentina, Greece and Spain. Speakers: Isabel Gutierrez Sanchez (UCL) on Spain (2:02 mins) Dr Maria Daskalaki (Roehampton University) Greece (24:08) Dr Daniel Ozarow (Middlesex University, London) Argentina (45:53) Chaired by Amanda Latimer (Kingston University, London) Contains tracks Part 1 Panel talks.WAV by The Day After published on 2017-12-01T13:56:11Z Part 2 Questions and Discussion.WAV by The Day After published on 2017-12-01T13:56:11Z
