The Journalist Who Broke Open Trump's Taxes On Why He Doesn't Care Who The Source Is by The New York Times

David Barstow, the three-time Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and co-author of the bombshell New York Times investigation of Donald J. Trump’s taxes, was asked whether he cared who had anonymously mailed him three pages from the candidate’s 1995 returns.

“The conversation is often framed around did they have noble intentions or was this score settling or some less-than-noble motive,” Mr. Barstow said to host Michael Barbaro, on The New York Times's politics podcast, The Run-Up.

“What really matters to me is,” he says, “is this information real and, if so, it is newsworthy?”
