The band called TV FACE are a post-punk/noise-rock band from Lancaster (UK). Expect weird guitar combined with a tight and heavy rhythm section, laced with deranged yet tuneful girl-boy vocals. A classic three-piece, they have been compared to Braniac, McClusky, Minutemen, and Pixies.
Their debut album Tide of Men was released on 22 September 2023 on Evil Blizzard’s label Crackedankles Records (Evil Blizzard, Yaang, Thank, Hot Wax, and more). It was named Louder Than War’s album of the week. The self-produced album was recorded partly in an old church, and partly in a bungalow in rural Lancashire, and mastered by Pete Maher (White Stripes, Pixies). Lead track I Knew a Girl I Didn’t Know was released as a limited edition lathe-cut 7” single that sold out in a couple of hours.
TV FACE have been played by, amongst others, Huw Stephens (Radio One), Deb Grant and Tom Ravenscroft (6Music), Tom Robinson (6Music), John Kennedy (Radio X), Frank Skinner (Absolute Radio), Mat Baty (Pigsx7, Amazing Radio), Frankie Francis (Amazing Radio), BBC Music Introducing Lancashire.
They have supported The Undertones, benefits, Warmduscher, Brix Smith, Evil Blizzard, Objections, FlithyDirty, Thank.
The band have just finished writing their 2nd album, which they are recording with Rob Whiteley in Liverpool (who has just finished producing BC Camplight’s next album). The album will be released on Crackedankles Records in September 2025. Two ltd ed lathe cut singles will be released in May and August. They will be touring from Spring 2025 onwards.
