Todd Deatherage Originally from Dallas, TX, singer/songwriter Todd Deatherage has been writing Americana-tinged music since the late 90's. With influences ranging from Gram Parsons to Tom Petty, he straddles the line between twangy, roots-rock and indie-pop. Todd spent his formative years studying classical and jazz guitar, while playing in bars with local blues musicians. He came up in the Deep Ellum music scene, which at the time saw the beginnings of alt-country and the ending of alt-rock. With his band, The Calways, he opened for such acts as the Old 97's, Wilco, and Reverend Horton Heat. In the early 2000's, Deatherage moved to NYC where he became a part of the East Village rock scene. As a solo artist, he frequented the Mercury Lounge and Pianos, sharing the stage with then-unknown bands like Lucero, My Morning Jacket, and Dr. Dog. Moving from NYC to Ann Arbor, MI, he spent many years touring across the country garnering fans and followers. He currently lives in Austin where he plays frequently around Texas with his traditional country band, The Merles. As a songwriter, Todd has worked with producer Mike Daly (originally from Whiskeytown), Rhett Miller, Matt Hillyer (of Eleven Hundred Springs), and Ryan Malott (500 Miles to Memphis). AMG Review describes him as having “a country rock background [which] allows Deatherage to play around musically in order for each song to take shape.” His new record, "Good Feeling," is now out!
