This is an album of broken and obscured grandeur, partially incorporating heavily distressed classical music samples, in particular from Sergei Rachmaninov’s piece, “All-Night Vigil”. With it’s dark echoes of early Doctor Who episodes, and it’s bent and twisted, industrially tinged and distorted choral decay, it seems at times an ominous soundtrack to an end of the world sci-fi film.
