Flight Of The B17 Bomber by The Recordist published on 2012-06-26T03:59:44Z Here is a compilation of B-17 WWII bomber sounds from the "Nine o Nine" that stopped in Sandpoint Idaho today, June 25 2012. All these sounds are from one flight. It was a beautiful, sunny summer day out on the airfield. I assembled the start, taxi away, take off, pass by, landing, taxi and shut off. Recorded with A sennheiser MKH-8040ST in XY at 24/96. I'm working on a full blog post with video for later this week. Enjoy! -Frank NOTE: I had no idea this plane was going to be here today... I only found out as I was recording bullet impacts and i heard this faint rumble-drone sound and looked up and saw a B-24 bomber heading my way. I quickly grabbed the microphone and pointed it skyward and there she was... low and flying right over me. I drove into the airport and they were there... the B-17 and B-24. More to come...
