Therapy Sessions Recordings and Anger Management are very excited to present our first Album release with Hostage: ALL LIES LP. Therapy Sessions Recordings was formed originally to carry on the standards of Freak Recordings Obscene and Tech Freak. With a back catalogue of albums such as Limewax “Scars on the Horizon” , The Destruction Ritual Compilation, Current Value’s "2012", and Audio’s “To the Edge of Reason” to name just a few, the bar was, and is, extremely high for an Artist and an especially an Album to rise to this challenge and manifest it’s own completely unique identity to carry on this legacy. We weren’t even really looking for that unicorn tbh lol. But then... Emerging from the smoldering ashes of two of the most hardcore concrete jungles on the planet, Tel Aviv and NYC, Hostage burst onto our Therapy stage with the release of Wires and Oil-Tank in 2014, followed shortly by the Audio remix of Wires which bit a piece of everyone’s ass and spat it out on dancefloors around the World in sets, not only from Therapy and Dark dnb headz, but across other sub-genres as well. NOW our bleeding hearts are beyond full of excitement over the release of ALL LIES, Hostage’s debut album with 10 tracks of pure aural annihilation from start to finish, including a remix by Dj Hidden! Hostage’s unique ability lay in his intricate, synapse massaging drum work, folded into a haze of ominous distortion and this gift to weave all these various sci fi-esque “melodies” into a strangely human dialogue. One you are not quite sure is friend or foe… The album unleashes shifting faces of darkness throughout its journey. From the start, the title track All Lies smashes into your skull with an uncompromising call to rebel, alongside brutally militant beats and raging, rumbling bass. Tunes like Catalyst grab you in your center of gravity and slutdrop you around the dance floor while Raven, with its eerie metallic stabs and unrelenting skullstep bounce promises to possess your very core. Sudden Def is a full on assault reminiscent of vintage Limewax; a maelstrom of percussion, bleepy stabs and the mutterings of a madman ricochet between rabid and razor sharp wind chime drones (or maybe that’s just me lol) before being swept into a chaotic call and response. As if the machines from the Matrix were on crack. Glass Eye steps into the deeper and sinister side of the psyche with a brooding, ritualistic feel. For a full on headbanging killer stomper, Gods of War will leave you legless and DJ Hidden tops off the whole rapturous experience with his distinct and sophisticated brand of crazy with Corporal Punishment Remix. Just to touch on a few.. With a little something nodding to each side of this glorious prism of dark DnB, this is a bold and uncompromising emergence from the shadows producing a concise concept album with the overall impression of a classic in the making!
