The Mountains Band Sun soaked with genuine country nostalgia The Mountains blur the lines between surf, folk and country to deliver well rounded warm tracks reminiscent of the golden age of country music with their own Australiana flavour added for good measure. The Sydney four piece made up of long time friends Peter Avard, Josh Piltz, Aaron (Biggie) Ballentyne and Matty Took exhibit a laid-back approach to song-writing taking in inspiration from beach towns and rolling hills. Lead singer, Pete has the ability to take you to a coastal town and back again all within a nicely arranged pop song. The last Twelve months have seen the band support local and international acts such as Justin Townes Earle, The Rubens, Delta Riggs and Ruby Boots. The boys then hit the studio with producer WILLSON in the summer of 2012/13 to record their "Country Doors EP" out later this year which features lead single "LOOSE JAW", a finger picking, foot stomping hoe-down of a track and the first to showcase Matty Took's Banjo and harmonies. In May 2013 The Mountains are set to hit the road with good friends and fellow Sydney-siders Achoo! Bless You on an ambitious 14 date tour which sees the band play along side The Starry Field (ex-middle east), Good Oak (Busby Marou) and more. “a real warmth that I just can't resist” - Dave Ruby Howe, Triple J Unearthed The Mountains Band’s tracks Sun by The Mountains Band published on 2013-06-26T02:03:53Z Loose Jaw by The Mountains Band published on 2013-04-29T06:05:51Z
