"Baroque World-Jazz" Mix by DJML

A mix from the stacks of a sound I love but struggle to classify, a unique niche of independently produced instrumental music from the 70s and 80s that I used to find regularly in dollar bins across the US. Call it baroque world-jazz, lowercase folk-prog, or virtuoso new age. Deft fingerpicking, hand percussion, plaintive sax and ocean sounds. The kind of self-published folk-adjacent experiments that you find nestled in the bins next to Oregon and Mannheim Steamroller, but produced on a tenth of the budget in places like Glastonbury, Connecticut and Richmond, California.
