After working on many diverse projects they reconnected when Craig contacted Eli to play some new songs he had written. Craig is an accomplished musician/songwriter who has performed and recorded internationally. He has played with numerous avant-garde and jazz greats including Anthony Braxton, Eddie Henderson, Mario Pavone, and Fabio Morgera (Groove Collective). He is a member of multiple music groups including Jim Oblon’s (Paul Simon, Phil Ramone) rock project Thin Veil. In 2012, Craig performed at the Marigliano In Jazz Festival in celebration of his jazz record’s (Books On Tape Vol.1) European release through Skidoo Records. In addition to the above experiences Craig’s interest in music span other genres including electronic, pop, and rock. Besides performing and recording with many rock, jazz, and avant-garde groups over the years Eli has created ambient soundscapes for Gabriel Bernstein’s albums, and been guitar teacher to hundreds of students all over the East Coast including actors Hailee Steinfeld and Mark Ruffalo on and off the set of the film “Can A Song Save Your Life.” He also works with numerous boutique guitar and effects companies to develop and demonstrate their equipment. The term “small multiple” (popularized by the statistician, Yale professor emeritus, and visual artist Edward Tufte) denotes a method that allows for quick visual comparison exhibiting variety and scopes of alternatives. Similar to the concept of small multiple designs, the music of Small Multiples merges inspiration from an eclectic array of musical influences, melodically combining them while still maintaining each influence’s integrity. On a macro level, Small Multiples frequently brings in and works with a variety of talented artists to perform and record with, including Leah Siegal (a.k.a. Firehorse) and Aaron Nevezie (producer/co-owner of the Bunker Studio) among others.
