#190 Who's The Fairest Of Them All by Tea with Queen and J. published on 2019-01-22T13:56:20Z Queen & J. are two womanist race nerds talking liberation, politics, and pop-culture over tea. Drink up! On this episode… One of our favorite shows does an episode on colorism but did they really even wanna talk about it? The politics of what’s “fair”, People who can’t read arguing over books, And will the next generation suck less than we do? This week’s hot list: Black Comic Book Festival & Black Villains Matter, that Twerk video is Black joy, Fyre fest scam, that Black-ish episode and light skinned privilege (again), stop saying fair - words still mean things, redbone vs. brownin', you mad at Marie Kondo or you racist/xenophobic? More partners, better sex, how racist is Gen Z, and mad other ish. Tweet us while you listen! #teawithqj @teawithqj and add #podin on twitter to help others discover Tea with Queen and J. podcast! I went through the same thing; laughing at all the rich white kids getting scammed but when it came to her moment in the documentary it was like 'Heres the person/ people who suffer from this the most'. The documenary infuriated me for the same reasons you mentioned; raising this white guy up,calling him a genius 'we will likely see him again' etc and then trying to shift blame onto the models and anyone else but him. I expected some sort of update at the end that Maryann received some profits from the documentary/ through courts but clearly not. So thank you for brining my attention to her gofund me I will be dropping some cash her way...literally the only person worthy of any kind of compensation (those rich kids got 5 million??) 2019-02-10T19:43:07Z Comment by Caged Bird I appreciate you both because you make me watch TV differently. thank you 2019-01-29T20:12:35Z Comment by Caged Bird "...people who are trying to F**k with our black ass black joy" 🤣🤣🤣 2019-01-29T20:11:36Z Comment by mikacherie That pressure is so real! I have broken down in tears so many time about being the one to create and abide by all the cleanliness standards in my house. 2019-01-24T22:00:46Z Comment by mikacherie Every time they said "fair" I thought about y'all. SMH such a clumsy episode, especially in the vocabulary. 2019-01-24T21:21:04Z Comment by something in the system I saw it.
