Tarek Yamani Berlin Born and raised in Beirut, Tarek is a pianist, composer and producer who is critically acclaimed for music that is “full of poetry and mysticism” from revisiting the classic traditions of the Arab world through the complex rhythms and harmonies of Black American Music. In an invigorating style, Tarek ingeniously stretches the edges between two eclectic cultures and musical heritages. He has performed and composed in a variety of other styles including Afro-Cuban, Brazilian, Flamenco, Electronic and chamber music, and in venues such as The Smithsonian Institute (Washington, DC), National Sawdust (Brooklyn), Atrium at Lincoln Center, Boulez Saal (Berlin), MuCEM (Marseille), Gran Teatro de la Habana (Cuba), the United Nations Assembly Hall (NYC), the Blue Whale (Los Angeles), the Detroit Institute of Arts, Melbourne Arts Center, Sejong Center (South Korea) and La Merce (Barcelona) to name a few.
