Sesame Street - Closing Credits Theme (Seasons 38-41 Version) (Instrumental) (2007-2010) by Tammy Norris published on 2022-10-20T22:42:58Z For Seasons 38 and 39 of Sesame Street, to coincide with the new opening sequence of 2007 and the folding-city transition bumpers used in between segments, a new closing credit sequence was introduced in Season 38 with the camera panning around the computer-animated city, with appearances by Super Grover, Elmo, Big Bird, and Abby Cadabby, accompanied by a funky urban-jazz instrumental version of the theme with an alto saxophone melody and solo. The closing sequence also ends with two new Sesame Workshop logos instead of the animated one used since 2000 (Season 38 utilized an in-credit variant featuring Abby Cadabby, and Season 39 debuted a newly-animated logo with an appearance by Elmo and other Sesame Workshop characters). For Seasons 40 through 45 of Sesame Street, a new closing credit sequence was created in 2009 to go along with the new theme, and featuring Big Bird, Ernie, Bert, Cookie Monster, Abby Cadabby, Zoe, and Elmo dancing on and around the credits in a chalk-drawn background of each character. The closing theme music, like the opening, for Season 40 was remixed from the 2007 instrumental edition, and starting in Season 42, was also rerecorded.
