Ben Bartu, Celebration, poetry by TahomaLiterary

This poem came on the heels of one of the worst seizures I’d experienced in several years, while traveling in England and feeling quite alone. At that time I felt my brain was trying to end me. I needed that same brain to create something which would give me permission to live. The poem is one of a series I’m writing about epilepsy, all named after disco staples (credit is due here to Kool & The Gang for their
song “Celebration”).
