The Evidence Against Her by Stephen Jaymes published on 2024-10-07T21:39:45Z Stephen Jaymes, the folk-punk poet whose recent single predicted (before the hurricanes) that this would be The Last Predictable Summer, is back again already, only weeks after releasing Saving Daylight. Just in time for the eerie holiday, Jaymes now releases The Evidence Against Her, a song about a man who considers the possibility that his Jungian anima has turned against him. It's the sixth, and spookiest, single from Stephen’s forthcoming debut LP King Jaymes. The mood is eerie, adventurous, and stormy, with a wordless chorus that crashes into you like a rogue wave. The striking music video that accompanies the new single sees Stephen lost at sea, knowing that a person should not be at odds with their spiritual muse. The video’s look is highly original, featuring Stephen in a curly mohawk looking like an Andy Warhol painting. The Evidence Against Her continues Stephen’s exploration of Jungian themes, and, following last year’s Chief Inspector, might be taken as Chief’s thematic companion.
