"Lullaby Little One" is a programatic piece by Stan Bann. It began as a simple lullaby and evolved into an entire "evening" of putting a young child to bed. Rarely does a lullaby take on the first singing. It may appear to, but there are usually visits to the parents in the kitchen, glasses of milk, and "can the puppy sleep with me?"s.

There is a peaceful lullaby / music box theme, a parents' theme, even a "tiptoeing quietly out of the bedroom so as not to wake him" moment. The lullaby keeps coming back in higher keys and faster tempos until the tyke is tuckered out and the parents can finally get their moment together without interruption. But only a moment.
