SORRYMIX41: Pacer — Live at Bossa Nova Civic Club by Sorry Records

SORRYMIX returns with a special live mix from our friend Pacer (@pacertest)! Recorded back in January for our monthly Bossa Nova Civic Club residency, SORRYMIX41 is a beautifully executed opening set from Ahmad (aka Pacer) for Tony G’s Takeover night alongside sets from Club Chow and Sorry founders Nick Boyd and Tony.

I love opening a party and setting the tone for what’s to come. You never know what energy you’re going to get from a crowd so early in night and with this being my first time playing Bossa, I didn’t know what to expect on a Sunday but I couldn’t have asked for a better dance floor. This is easily one of my favorite sets I’ve played and truly encompasses the Pacer sound: house, techno, dub, 80s remixes & new wave edits. Wild to think that it’s been nearly a year since this party happened, stoked to finally have this recording from such a special night out in the world. Shout out to Sorry Records for having me on this great lineup and releasing this mix.

Perhaps best known as one half of the DJ duo Dasani Boys (@dasani_boys) with his brother Akeem, Ahmad Asani is a force behind the decks on his own, evidenced by his fantastic ‘Pacer Test’ radio residency on Chicago’s Beloved Radio (highly recommend a deep dive!) as well as past live engagements opening for the likes of Galcher Lustwerk, Charli XCX, and Virgil Abloh. I love Pacer’s ability to balance deep and meditative cuts with party rockers, a perfect formula for opening up the night at Bossa.”
