Son Kuma ソンクマ Inglewood Son Kuma is a Hip Hop and R&B songwriter, producer, and recording artist from Inglewood, CA. As a Stanford University Alum with a B.S in Physics, his music blurs the line between emotional storytelling and intellectual rigor. He began making music in 2017, where he transformed heartbreak and drug abuse into Indica — a debut mixtape that has since amassed over 15 million streams. His follow-up mixtape, Sativa, and performance opening for multi-platinum band Glass Animals marked his arrival as a full-fledged artist. He took a leave of absence from university to compose his debut album, Good For Life which arrived on the summer solstice of 2021. After earning a degree in Mathematical Physics from Stanford University and surviving a near-fatal car accident, Kuma returned with What Goes Around... in 2024, a cinematic, introspective album about cycles of love and consequence.
