Hashtag by Sid Hille

Hashtag (#) was composed for the Finnish national composition competition 'Esko Linnavalli-sävellyskilpailu'. The piece was premiered live on Finnish national radio by the famous UMO Jazz Orchestra, conducted by Antti Rissanen.
Hashtag won the third price in the competition with a special mention by the jury for its 'powerful energy' and thus being very well suited for the american market and the thousands of college bigbands 'over there' that surely will be interested in playing this piece.
