Siavash Kaveh Toronto Siavsh Kaveh was born in Tehran, 1986. He is an Iranian traditional music performer of Kamancheh and Daf. He began Learning Daf with music instructors, Arash Yari (2000) and Ali Nourbakhsh (2002). Shortly after, he started learning Kamancheh with Mohammad Abdoli (2003). He continued educating Kamancheh under supervision of the university faculties, Ehsan Zabihifar, Mehdi Oloumi and Reza Parviz Zadeh at University of Art in Iran. In addition, he took part in private Kamancheh classes with Master Ardeshir Kamkar. He graduated in Iranian Music performance specialized in Kamancheh performing from University of Art, Tehran, Iran (2006). His bachelor thesis is about introducing different techniques of Kamancheh playing. He has composed ten etudes for Kamancheh performers as an exercise, using particular fingerings and bowings for Kamancheh. Hi is a gold medalist of the second national Kamancheh Competition of the Spring Festival of University of Art (May 2009). He was a member of Avaye rood ansemble for seven years. The ansemble won awards from First Chamber Ensemble Festival of National Students festival (Jun 2007), Second Chamber Ensemble Festival of National Students (Jun 2011), Second prize winner of the ensemble competition of the fourth Student Music Festival (Dec 2007), and Avaye Rood Selected for the best ensemble performanace in the Second prize winner of the first Chamber Ensemble Music Festival of University of Art (May 2008).
