Despite the emphasis put on individual names in jazz, this collective aspect, the community invoked, has always been the driving force of this music. Drawing inspiration from this concept of community, enriching it with personal life experiences, the compositions serve as supports for each musician to make his voice heard, as displayed on the title track. Fall from the cliff, one of the earliest compositions, is a reflexion on what a group experience can be : an occasion to set aside ego and judgement, to take chances and surrender to the instant, experimenting trust both in oneself and in others.
