If you’re not sold on the name alone, then one listen alone should endear you to the charms of Breakfast Muff. The Glasgow-based three piece make short fuzzy pop song with a dark underbelly.

At 1 min 14 seconds ‘I Want to Want to’ is the shortest of all the tracks we’ve released this year (possibly ever? AIH historians?) but this also means it’s probably one of my most played - one listen is never enough. Songs that open with the line ‘I find it hard to tell you that, I want to die’, probably aren’t supposed to be this enjoyable but there’s something about the resigned nature of the chorus that is reassuringly uplifting. We’re all human after all.
