Science Associates Science Associates – aka. British producer Phill Coady - makes melodic, propulsive, poolside electronic music, described by Freemasons’ James Wiltshire as “emotive, warm and inviting”. Debut ‘A Baleia Azul’ offers up Latin-infused, beach-adjacent house. Freemasons’ Wiltshire raves that it “draws you in, and then forces you to stay for tight production and even tighter mix”. Coady’s music grew from an early fascination with the technology of sounds and samples, finding inspiration in everything from Radiophonic Workshop LPs to 1940s movie serials. Science Associates’ other influences include 80s’ Trevor Horn, Röyksopp, Freemasons, Brothers in Rhythm, Richard X and Bebel Gilberto, creating thoroughly modern house that feels timeless. As Coady says, “I’m just making music that I love”. Previously, as Hoppa, Coady produced Nigel Gee’s worldwide club hit ‘Hootin’ ’. And as Snapd, Coady lit up New York dance radio with unofficial remixes of Lily Allen, Lights, Florrie and Sunday Girl.
