Murphy's Report (regarding the massacre in Oradour-sur-Glane) for Brass Quintet by Sanchit Malhotra published on 2019-12-28T14:10:14Z composed and produced by sanchit malhotra recorded live in the Palau de les Arts, Aula Magistral theater On 10 June, 1944, the 642 inhabitants, including women and children, of the French village Oradour-sur-Glane were massacred by a German Waffren-SS Company. That August, American B-17 navigator Raymond J Murphy witnessed the aftermath of the massacre. He wrote "About 3 weeks ago, I saw a town within 4 hours bicycle ride up [sic] the Gerbeau farm [of Resistance leader Camille Gerbeau] where some 500 men, women, and children had been murdered by the Germans.
